Friday Favorites: Volume 3
What a week! In New Jersey we had snow, rain, fog, strong winds and generally very un-Spring like weather. I mean, I know they say April showers bring May flowers but....... this is a bit much. In fact it is beginning to flurry again as we speak. Happy Friday!
Anyway... Here are my Friday Favorites for this week! A mixture of all the things that made me stop this week and say, "Hey. I like this."
Nutro Crunchy Treats - The first is for my dog owners out there. It seems like every single day I'm seeing news stories about how some brand of dog food or dog treats are making pets sick or worse, and I have to say it scares me. I also know that I don't have time to bake my own dog treats (though I wish I did!) and I spend a ton every month for all the supplies it takes to care for 2 dogs and 2 cats well so I'm not about to bankrupt myself for some sort of cookie that is made of organic unicorn tears. Enter Nutro. To be honest I'd bought this brand years ago and for a long time but just re-discovered them and remembered why I love giving them to my dogs so much.
First of all, Tango and Cosmo love them. Second, they smell amazing! Probably because they are made with real food like apples, berries, peanut butter, and more. They smell so good I want to try them... but I haven't (yet). They are perfect little nibble size as well and surprisingly affordable for a good-sized bag. I grabbed mine at Target but you can check the website to see where they are sold near you!

Thrive Market - I am reallllly excited for this one. To be honest I'm sick of shopping at the big chain stores for a ton of reasons I see no need to get into right now. Not to mention I am always trying to have a better diet and eat better quality foods. Enter Thrive Market! It is basically a market filled with organic and non-GMO products (think Annie's, Late July, and their own Thrive brand) at lower prices & shipped directly to your door. There is a 1 month free trial (which I am doing currently) and after that it is $60/year to be a member. I also googled for coupons at checkout and found one for $20 off my first 3 orders so.... there is the $60 membership! I found tons of stuff I've never seen in stores like Vegan Jerky and Brussel Sprout Puffs (I will report back to you on my reviews of those) and it just makes it so much easier to get the good stuff. Thrive Market + Farmer's Market = a better way to shop! Oh and also - you can donate your savings to families in need of food support so you can even help give back! If you're interested in looking into it, click here to sign-up with your email and take a look around! When you sign-up, you'll get 25% off your first order!

Armchair Expert Podcast - I have a new found love for Podcasts and have been enjoying this one this week. Dax Shepard is the host and so far I've listed to his shows with Kristen Bell, Adam Scott and Anna Farris. All stellar. I especially loveddddd the one with Kristen Bell. She talks about how she makes it a point in her life of choosing happiness over suffering; a mantra that I think is really great to take into your own life. She explains it really well in the podcast, so take a listen. They also chat about how they are perceived on social media, Kristen's foray into acting and her childhood passion for it, and more! Adam Scott and Anna Farris were equally as interesting. If you are intrigued by actors and like to listen to compelling conversation, this is a great podcast to listen to. It doesn't have a clear focus but is great all the same and it has made my commute manageable this week!
