Favorite Products for Facial Skin Care
Let's talk about something that I am grateful for: my skin.
Growing up I didn't have many skin issues. I broke out like a normal teenager, and still do here or there, but for the most part I've got to admit I'm one of the lucky ones.
I think some of this has to do with my healthy habits: good idea (mostly!), drink lots of water, get lots of rest. So many issues happening within our bodies can first be caught as clues in the way our skin is acting. If you have bad skin issues the first thing you should do is not only take a look at the products you use on your skin, but look at what is going on with your body, your food and water intake, and the way your body reacts to what you're eating.
With that said, products play a big part in the puzzle that is great skin. However, if I forget to wash my face before bed I won't automatically wake up with a face full of problems.
Over the years I've switched the products I use more times than I can count and in the last year I have found a pretty great system that shows me awesome results, is easy to manage, and that I love!
I've never had better skin than I do right now. I'm wearing less makeup than ever. My dark circles aren't as bad as they sometimes were. At 30 years old I know it is past time to start supporting my skin to reduce aging and wrinkles so I'm doing my best to put the very best systems in place.
Soooooooo without further delay I am going to walk you through my go-to products and what I've been doing that works for me. I know this won't be for everyone. We've all got different skin struggles! But maybe something here will pop out to you and you'll be able to try it and find some success. And please note: to know me is to know I use as much cruelty-free items as I can, so anything I recommend will be a product that is kind to animals.
1. Moisturize
For sure my number one tool in my skincare arsenal is moisturizer. When I travel it is hard because my favorite facial moisturizer of all time is a giant vat of coconut oil. Yes - I slather this stuff on my face morning and night plus I use it to remove eye makeup. I bought this giant tub from Target over a year ago and I'm just now getting to the bottom of it. I've read conflicting reports about coconut oil being beneficial for facial skin but at this point I am pretty secure in my love for it. So, all the coconut oil for me and my skin! Find it here!
2. Toner
This is a favorite of mine. I DIY'd it with my essential oils and absolutely love the way it makes me face look and feel. I got a 15ml oil roller and put in a few drops each of Frankincense, Lemon, Cedarwood, Copaiba and Lavender. Filled the rest of the way with Witch Hazel. Done! It was also super easy to pack it for Italy so I was able to use it in the whole time I traveled. p.s. you can find all of these oils (except Cedarwood) in the Young Living Starter kit. Let me know if you want more info on getting them!
I also adore rolling Frankincense straight onto my skin, especially my forehead, in the morning and evening. Frank has a grounding scent and amazing properties to help balance skin.

3. Cleanse
I like to switch up my facial cleanser and also scrub once in a while, too. Here are some of my favorites!
Satin Facial Scrub Mint - Love to wake up with this face wash. It has the best scent and tingle! Gentle enough to use every day.

Pacifica Sea Foam Face Wash - Super gentle and smells like heaven. I like to use this at night.
![UPDATE: A MUST Buy! After reading this lovely girls blog :) I've since been using the Pacifica - Sea Foam Natural Face Wash and absolutely LOVE it and how soft my skin feels after the fact. Use morning or night!](https://i.pinimg.com/564x/22/b5/74/22b5741ab81b347ea3927889f9b895ea.jpg)
Acure Brilliantly Brightening Facial Scrub - Once or twice a week I like to use a scrub to clean out my pores. This one has been a favorite!

4. Tools
In January I ordered a Jade Roller and I have been loving doing these little facial massages every day. Sadly the one I ordered BROKE and I've been having issues with the shop getting a new one. However, just search Jade Roller and there are plenty of choices that pop up! Jade rollers are said to reduce puffiness and tighten the skin, as well as increase muscle tone through the massage action. Natural anti-inflammatory properties of jade can also reduce redness, sensitive skin, and other signs of skin irritation.
Keep it in the fridge so the stone is nice and cool when you massage it lightly over your face. Look for YouTube videos on it, too! This is such a great tool to have in your face arsenal.

5. Masks
Shea Moisture Mud Masque with Peace Rose Oil - This stuff smells like heaven and makes my face feel so baby soft. I adore it and you only need a little to go a long way, so the price is so worth it. I use it at least 2x a week and would use it every day if I had the time.

ART Beauty Mask - Sheet masks are currently all the rage and this has been my favorite to date. It has exotic orchid petals + essential oils for an all around amazing spa experience.
