Winter Joy

Winter was welcomed with a very snowy week. 

Some of our family loved the snow... and some of us loved the extra reason to cuddle. 

The first (and second and third) snow made it feel like the holiday season. All cozied up indoors with cookies baking blankets up to our necks... 

What a lovely winter joy.

San Francisco + Big Sur

Of all the many places I've been lucky enough to visit, the one I love the most has to be California. Until this point, I had only seen SoCal; San Diego, Carlsbad, Anaheim, and Santa Monica - but there is so much more to explore! So when I had the chance to travel to San Francisco and Big Sur, my heart was elated! I couldn't wait to see the mountainous coast line, take in the salty PCH air, and surround myself by towering trees. We spent the first day exploring picturesque San Francisco and hitting all the tourist spots; Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory, and the Golden Gate Bridge. Tired from a long day of travel, we ended with a quiet dinner and prepared for our drive the next day down to Big Sur. With no real plan, we set out on the road and stopped along the way anywhere that caught our eye. Escape to Italia: Firenze Part 2

Part two of Florence, Italy! This was a day simply for explorations. The morning started out mild but by afternoon the skies had opened and the rain was pouring down. We got out of the hotel around 11, stopped at a small shop for coffee and pastries, and then began our adventuring. That is when we stumbled upon everything from Dinosaurs to a street market with giant canolis, which I happily considered fate and indulged in. Then, we waited a while in a line so get into the museum of The David! There we also saw some very old and very cool instruments, paintings, and other sculptures. Our walks took us to more residential areas of the city and we had a late afternoon bite right next to the Duomo as the rain really started to come down. My only regret is that our lunch was so late, that we didn't get hungry enough for dinner until it was too late.
